We chose to explore our habitats through the waterways that run through our respective cities; Keith, Greenock, Glasgow, and Zhuhai. Although in separate cities, our group are all situated near a water source and felt linked by that. There was much to explore around these bodies of water, whether it be circular economy, post-industrial landscapes or human behaviors and activities. We thought about how these waterways have been the lifeblood of communities for centuries and saw how they provided routes to thinking about the histories, industries and personal stories of our habitats. We captured our individual experiences of our chosen body of water through photography, collage, writing and poetry and pulled together our efforts in this collaborative zine which explores the crucial role of water in our habitats.
