The current epoch of human activity is determining the climate and environment we currently live in, influenced by the traces humans have left behind, including the traces of social inequalities, leading to our heavily dominated patriarchal society. This has resulted in the oppression of women, as well as environmental degradation. In response, I wanted to combine both nature and women, with an ecofeminist response to the Anthropocene. My research into honey highlights connotations of women with regards to sanctity, love, and softness, which in turn relates to the view and treatment of women in an adaptable patriarchal society consequently producing gender inequality.
