‘Message in a Bottle,’ is a comment on how our communication leads to destruction.
I was shocked to discover the prominent levels of carbon dioxide that our emails, and in particular emails with images produce.
With this knowledge, I was keen to depart from online conversation and experiment with a different form of communication that deviated from the norm.
It was crucial that my project implements the core fact that all human communication, via the use of materials, causes devastation to our world.
Inspired by the work of Andy Warhol’s ‘Time Capsule 21,’ I filled my own bottle shaped capsule with images I shot at Ayr beach.
These photographs document life during this pivotal time of the Anthropocene and were buried there shortly after.
