Through the breakdown of my everyday materials into their component parts and with influence from Thérèse Oulton and Ian McKeever, I investigated how I could find beauty in the Earth’s raw forms. With links to the mining industry and its effect on our planet, my study of rocks was an attempt to bring attention to the vulnerability of our materials and how much our planet is at the mercy of human agendas. Our severe negative impact on Earth is achieved with no moral consequence yet as we enter the Anthropocene, I find it important that we are reminded of our own fragility. Who are we to  destroy our only home?
