Working on this project allowed our group to work with a different perspective in mind, presenting us with our theme of ‘The visual surrealism of time and decay’. Through our work we looked at this theme, working with layering, while exposing and hiding aspects of our subjects that stood out to us, leaving us with our individual representations of decay via time. Exploring surrealism in this area meant we could be more subjective with our work working with various mediums to create a deconstructed representation highlighting the decay through time, whilst still representing what was seen in each image our group worked from. Working from the same image allowed a different perspective to be presented through each members work, allowing for an array of new and fresh representations on dilapidated structures, breathing new life into each our subject through each piece we made.
