By exploring different perspectives, our project sought to discover how various habitats are affected by the Anthropocene.
We focused on the modernisation of The Barras, a historically rich – though now financially diminished – area once home to a bustling market in Glasgow’s East End.
Despite current appetites for authenticity, the modernisation of the area threatens to eliminate the true character and characters of The Barras, including its authentic locals who will be priced out of the regeneration. Through our collaborative handmade collage book, we feature one such authentic character, JD, and his story of stolen jewels and his campaign to clear his name.
