In 2016 The Anthropocene Working Group concluded that the Anthropocene Epoch began in 1950 when human activity began causing an imbalance in the planet’s natural state, as a result of this I decided to explore different interior styles and trends throughout the decades of the Anthropocene. By focusing my film around one room, a living room it allowed me to place a spotlight on human detachment from reality, whilst the living room gradually moves through the decades of the Anthropocene the world outside is rapidly changing and humanity is drastically evolving. The sounds used in this film are all connected by the actions of humans and the impact they have on the environment and humanity. The film is a soundtrack to the decades of change witnessed by storytellers chronicling humanity’s positive and negative progress.
