Plastic Garden is a series containing ‘Decaying Still Life’ and ‘Plastic Life’, using materials such as clay, decaying fruits, flowers, and single-use plastics, as a still life photo and an installation piece. It was inspired by the Bible verses from The Book of Job, 38:14, The Book of Jeremiah, 18:6, and the concept of ‘mortality vs immortality’ that can be analysed in the products packaged in single-use plastics. By researching the history of plastic and how some Christians view climate change, I combined a religious perspective and the Anthropocene to find a middle ground between science and religion.
