For this project, I was given the brief to learn, make and subvert a new textile technique. I chose to learn how to make tassels as this is something which was new to me. This gave me a chance to develop my skills – I feel this links to the theme of Being Human because the more tasseling I tried, the better and more experimental my work became. Through primary research, I was able to link my studio work to my archive object research by modernising the object through Photoshop manipulation by using non-traditional materials, like plastic bags and elastic bands, which contrasts to the common materials, like silk and metallic thread, of the 17th century.
