The Anthropocene arguably began due to the Industrial Revolution (1760 – 1840), and the unsustainable practises it brought into the world. A lot of these related to textiles and therefore fashion, which then became a big part of people’s lives during this time. Using a three piece suit, and looking into its traditional history and it’s development during the industrial revolution; This project gave me a chance to upcycle a traditional garment into something new. Everyone can help make changes by looking into sustainable clothing options; you don’t need to buy from mass production companies to have new and trendy clothes.
