These three pieces are mimicking the techniques used in cameraless photography. I have used paint and edited the original images using Photoshop, mainly upping the contrast to achieve the desired look. I created a sequence of images to produce a short animation with choppy movements to feel similar to a stop motion film. This way I combined a human ability of mark-making with a computer to get my result.
“LEMON” represents a balance between a static, less natural black surface and a print of a lemon which is less predictable and more playful aka natural. “leaf” and “hands.” coincidentally have a similar meaning, coming together even when we feel lost. Very fitting for what’s been going on lately.
