“Bondage by phone” is an honest reflection on my feelings of hopelessness and pessimism towards the themes that were raised in the brief. Inspired by work such as Saeed Khavar Nejads series “TV NOISE COLLECTION”; I wanted to express how my connection to the Anthropocene is somewhat broken through the media I consume. The works deal with materials and images that were directly sourced from broken phone parts. I have put together a sculptural piece involving the phone as a collaborator; a zine which curates the imagery I have made/found; and a video piece which captures the disorientation that I experience from media consumption.
