One of the main areas of the ‘Anthropocene’ (the state of the environment due to human activity) is the area of human consumption. The consumerism of humans with regards to food appears to play a big part on the planet we live on. One of the biggest contributors to humanity’s damage on the earth is beef consumption, as it produces around 40% of methane gases which is 70 times worse than CO2 in terms of damages caused to the ozone layer and to the environment. Is an 8oz steak worth these effects to our home? Additionallyhow can we justify the killings of entire species?
