As a group we traced human impact in our environment through the examination of historical and current maps of our local areas. We noted and documented the proliferation of manmade structures in these maps over time and questioned, “What if prominence was given to the natural over the built environment in mapping, how would this change people’s perception of what is important?”

We have created a series of individual creative outcomes relating to this shared theme, showing the contrast between past and present, highlighting building material sources and uses, and championing green spaces.
